The opening round of the “2026 Uswing Mojing Junior World Championship Taiwan International Qualifier FSS” took place today (March 11) at the National Golf Country Club. Wu Shuang, standing tall among her peers, carded the only under-par score of the day with a 71 (-1) to take the solo lead in the Girls 15-18 division. Meanwhile, southern Taiwan’s long-hitter Hsu Po-cheng turned in a 72 (E) to sit atop the Boys 15-18 leaderboard.

Boys 15-18: High Stakes and Long Drives
The morning in Miaoli began with a chill, but as the sun emerged, temperatures rose to provide excellent golfing conditions. However, intermittent gusts of wind and tricky greens remained the primary challenges for the field.
Hsu Po-cheng, champion of the 2023 Asia-Pacific Junior Team Championship, had an eventful round featuring three birdies, an eagle, and five bogeys. Despite the rollercoaster card, his even-par 72 leaves him four strokes ahead of Yu Hong-yu and Cheng Yu-cheng. Leveraging his distance, Hsu unleashed a 330-yard drive on the 16th hole, followed by a 150-yard approach and a spectacular 45-foot eagle putt, briefly moving him to -2. Unfortunately, consecutive bogeys on the final two holes brought him back to even par.
“I’m not entirely satisfied,” Hsu remarked. “I struggled to judge the wind on my approaches, and my putting read and speed were off, leading to two three-putts. Tomorrow, the goal is to get under par and just improve day by day.”
Boys 13-14: A Tale of Two Halves
Luo Shou-wei, a second-year student at Taipei’s Xin-Xing Junior High School, recovered from a rocky start. After a 40 on the front nine, he caught fire on the back with four birdies and one bogey for a 33, totaling 73. Local favorites Lee Yen-ting and Chen Kai-hsiang follow in second and third with 74 and 75, respectively. Luo noted that insufficient warm-up led to a rushed rhythm early on, but a composed back nine—highlighted by a 30-foot birdie putt on the 15th—turned his day around.
Girls 15-18: Wu Shuang’s Birdie Blitz
Wu Shuang dominated the Girls 15-18 division with her 71 (-1), leading Yu Yu-fei by four shots. Starting on the back nine, Wu went on a tear from the 16th to the 1st hole, rolling in four straight oneputt birdies, including two 24-footers.
“My irons were solid—hitting 11 greens in regulation—and the putter felt great,” said the former U15 World Schools Championship winner. Despite an Out of Bounds (OB) error on the 6th hole, she remains optimistic. “I’m heading to the range to tune my driver. If I can keep it in play better, the score should improve.”
International Presence
While Taiwanese boys lead their respective divisions, the girls’ leaderboards feature international talent. Bangkok’s Sirikarn Vichkovitten leads the Girls 13-14 group with a 77, while Hong Kong’s Megan Ngai leads the Girls 9-10 with an 84.
Vichkovitten noted the difficult wind and greens, expressing a desire to fix her three-putt issues before tomorrow. The event has become a key stepping stone for international players; brothers Siu Chi-hang and Siu Chi-yat traveled from Hong Kong specifically for this qualifier. “The weather is great, and the course and hotel are wonderful,” their mother noted. “Since it’s only a short flight, we definitely plan to return for more tournaments in Taiwan.”

紅字領軍、老鷹加持，吳雙、許伯丞領先2026 Uswing Mojing青少年世界錦標賽台灣資格賽首輪
「2026 Uswing Mojing青少年世界錦標賽台灣資格賽─春季」第一回合賽事，於今日（3/11）在全國花園鄉村俱樂部順利舉行。身材高人一等的吳雙繳出全場唯一的紅字71桿（-1），在女子15-18歲組獨居領先。來自南台灣的重砲許伯丞交出72桿，暫居男子15-18歲組首位。
其餘各組別的領先者依序如下：男子13-14歲組駱守維（73），男子11-12歲組李晨睿（76），男子9-10歲組簡堃祐（73），男子7-8歲組許德恩（80）。女子13-14歲泰國選手Sirikarn Vichkovitten（77），女子11-12歲組郭臻臻（86），女子9-10歲組香港小妹妹Megan Ngai（84），女子7-8歲組張晏齊（80）。
今天苗栗清晨冷冽，但隨著陽光露臉，氣溫逐漸回升，形成絕佳的打球天氣；但時不時颳起的陣風與刁鑽的果嶺，仍是左右選手桿數的關鍵。曾贏得2023亞太青少年隊際錦標賽冠軍的許伯丞，今天賺得多也花得多，三鳥一鷹五柏忌，72桿平盤開場，但已領先居次的尤泓諭與鄭聿呈4桿之多。挾著距離優勢，他在第16洞轟了330碼，第二桿150碼上果嶺，然後灌進45呎長推獵鷹，成績一度來到負2桿。可惜第17與18洞接連柏忌，回到平標準桿。
他對自己今天的表現不盡滿意，有些進攻果嶺球的風抓不準，加上推桿判讀與速度也不理想，發生兩次三推失誤。「明天就是設法under par，一天比一天進步就好！」
男子13-14歲組的領先者是台北新興國中二年級生駱守維，他今天表現倒吃甘蔗，前九洞40桿、後九洞四鳥一柏忌33桿，合計73桿。兩位全國球場地主選手李彥廷與陳楷翔分別以74、75桿暫居二、三名。駱守維表示自己前九洞剛下場熱身不足，節奏有點急，過度積極進攻反而失誤多，推桿又扯後腿。後九洞保持平常心順順打，成績反而好，包括第15洞灌進30呎長推抓鳥，印象最為深刻。他表示明天鐵桿會保守一點打，拿大一號控制型揮桿，提升上果嶺率。
高雄九如國小的李晨睿以76桿領先男子11-12歲組，蔡天富78桿暫居第二。李晨睿認為自己今天鐵桿不錯，抓了三鳥，可惜有些洞發生失誤爆桿，也錯失了好幾記短推，希望明後天能夠穩住，拿下冠軍前進Uswing青少年世界錦標賽。男子9-10歲組則由「南投之光」簡堃祐以73桿領先7桿之多，但他對自己的表現不滿意，覺得後九洞節奏亂掉，切推也不理想。
女子15-18歲組吳雙以唯一紅字71桿單獨領先，余語菲75桿暫居第二。身材與距離都傲視群雌的吳雙今天上演抓鳥秀，後九洞出發的她從第16洞到第1洞連續四洞一推抓鳥，其中包括兩記24呎長推進洞，推桿手感極其火燙。可惜轉場後開球偏差較大，第6洞甚至歪到右側去OB。「今天鐵桿不錯，par on 11洞還可以，推桿手感也很好。」曾拿下世界中學生錦標賽U15冠軍的吳雙說。「等一下去練習場調整開球，如果開球再好一點，成績應該可以更好。」
相較於男子組全部由台灣選手領先，女子組就有國外球員暫居首位了。來自泰國曼谷的Sirikarn Vichkovitten以77桿領先女子13-14歲組，台灣選手鄭以心78桿暫居第二。香港選手Megan Ngai以84桿領先女子9-10歲組，台灣選手曾姿綺85桿居次。
Vichkovitten表示今天的風很大，加上果嶺很難，推桿表現不好，屢屢三推失誤。雖然成績還可以，但其實可以更好一點。她特別從泰國飛來台灣打這場資格賽，希望能順利取得Uswing入場券。「等一下要去練推桿，希望明後天能好一點。」
這場未來之星系列賽，是邁向國際舞台的重要第一步，也成功吸引多位海外選手來台參賽。來自香港的蕭至亨與蕭至逸兄弟，就是透過香港高協得知消息後，特地飛來台灣應戰。「今天天氣很好，球場和飯店都很棒。台灣離香港又近，飛一個多小時就到了。」蕭媽媽笑說，「以後如果有機會，我們一定會多來台灣比賽。」
