The Future Star Golf Association of Miaoli County (Registration No. 府勞社行字第1091017719號) is officially registered in Miaoli County, central Taiwan. The first chairman is Mr. Wu Hsien-Hung.
The association was founded in Miaoli to leverage the resources of National Garden & Country Club, integrating its existing junior development programs and golf academy operations. This allows youth tournaments and training to be carried out in a more systematic way. Such long-term planning requires an association to coordinate and connect resources from different sectors, which is why the Future Star Golf Association was established.
Most junior golfers in Taiwan start with parental guidance, moving from casual interest to coaching, finding practice venues, and eventually entering tournaments—a process that is often costly and uncertain, potentially overlooking talent. Our association integrates golf course and coaching resources to provide proper guidance, creating a collective learning and competitive environment for juniors.
As international amateur golf develops rapidly, Taiwan’s connection with the global stage often remains limited or outdated. For example, few fully understand the standards and benefits of the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). Even parents sending their children abroad for tournaments or studies may lack clarity. Our association regularly shares international updates with junior players and their families.
Although we cooperate with golf courses, we do not encourage juniors to spend every day at the course. Instead, we promote a balanced schedule: attending school or self-studying during the day, and practicing only after school or on weekends. This approach helps juniors value practice time and develop self-discipline. We aim to nurture well-rounded student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically.
Children often start golf out of passion, but not all will turn professional. We encourage diverse learning so that golf complements, rather than replaces, other interests. This broader foundation helps young golfers build more opportunities for the future, both within and beyond golf.
Through our Future Star Tournament Series, juniors gain valuable opportunities to test their progress and adjust their training. At the same time, our events are recognized by the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) and JCS, helping players connect with international golf. Whether applying to study abroad or competing for global opportunities, participation in our tournaments offers significant advantages.
Unlike most associations in Taiwan, which mainly serve adult players, the Future Star Golf Association is the only golf association dedicated solely to junior development.
We do not focus on selecting national representatives. Instead, we aim to expand the junior golf population across Taiwan. With a steady influx of new talent, the national team of tomorrow will continue to grow stronger.
Many associations operate without the support of golf courses. Our chairman, Mr. Wu Hsien-Hung, is also the general manager of National Garden & Country Club, enabling direct access to golf course facilities and its academy. This ensures practical, well-supported operations for tournaments and training.
While rooted in Miaoli, our tournaments, activities, and membership recruitment extend nationwide. We collaborate with facilities across Taiwan, allowing juniors to practice locally while always being welcomed back to our headquarters at National Garden & Country Club.
Golf often requires high costs and family involvement, limiting access for many children. Our association actively recruits junior members, offering affordable opportunities to play and enjoy golf without needing to join as trainees or live locally.
We organize four seasonal series tournaments annually—spring, summer, fall, and winter. This schedule gives players ample preparation time, while venues prepare at the highest standard, including allowing parents to spectate. Refereeing, event management, media coverage, and WAGR submissions are all conducted with professional rigor, comparable to professional tournaments.
Because training bases may vary by location, we actively seek cooperation with like-minded training units across Taiwan. This fosters exchange, raises competitiveness, and enables broader tournament planning in the future.
Global amateur golf is rapidly growing, with entry increasingly dependent on WAGR points and notable victories. Our series provides local players with ranking opportunities, but to gain more points, we must also attract international participants and support local players in competing abroad. These efforts require continuous dedication and development.
As mentioned, most juniors begin golf through family influence. Our membership program, inspired by international models, lowers participation costs, increases playing opportunities, and fosters peer-based learning. This creates a school-like community of golfers growing together.
For business leaders who wish to give back to golf by supporting youth development, hosting their own tournaments can be time-consuming and costly. By donating to the association instead, companies can support junior players efficiently, gain tax benefits, and increase brand exposure, while enabling the association to host meaningful, diverse events.
Developing a junior golfer is a long journey that no single family can sustain alone. Through association activities, individuals and corporations can support talented juniors from their amateur days, ensuring resources are directed where they are most impactful—helping potential future stars rise.
In many countries, leading golf brands heavily invest in junior golfers, not only by providing equipment but also through workshops and educational activities. In Taiwan, the Future Star Tournament Series provides an ideal platform for golf brands to connect with juniors and showcase their products.
